Who is invited to this event?
This gathering is for lay leaders from across the Diocese of New York and New England, including parish board members, heads of service, youth leaders, women leaders, and others entrusted with leadership roles in their parishes.
What is the purpose of the Opening Luncheon?
The luncheon marks the beginning of the Diocesan Gathering of Lay Leaders. It is both a time of fellowship and an opportunity to unite leaders from all parishes in planning, coordination, and vision for the growth and life of our Diocese.
Is there a cost to attend?
No, there is no cost to attend. The luncheon is offered with the blessing of His Grace Bishop David and the Diocese.
Do I need to RSVP?
Yes, we kindly ask that all participants RSVP by September 15, 2025, so we may prepare accordingly. You can RSVP through the online form on this site or by contacting your parish priest.
What should I wear?
We ask that attendees dress in respectful, modest attire suitable for a formal diocesan luncheon (business casual or church attire).
Can my spouse or family attend?
This invitation is specifically for lay leaders who have been selected to represent their parish. You may also register your spouse to attend with you.
Will there be a program during the luncheon?
Yes, in addition to fellowship and dining, there will be short reflections, words from His Grace Bishop David, and an introduction to the vision and goals of the Diocesan Gathering among other clergy and speakers.
Will parking be available?
Yes, free parking will be available at the church.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your RSVP form, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
